  63. Newcomer's Island(#1603RDA)

  64. This appears to be a rather constrictive inkwell, jammed full of characters. A little bit of Vulpes Flourinectie ink drops on you; through it one can see the rose garden that's out there and the people in it. Among other things, the world outside the inkwell offers housing that isn't so cramped, or so wet.

  65. You might choose to visit the Rose Garden by typing 'out', or the park of the day by typing 'park'. You can return to this area by typing 'new'. If you're new to MUCKing, you can get a short list of important commands by typing 'commands'.

  66. If you'd like a character, you can page a wizard who's on duty -- they're listed by typing 'wizzes' -- or if none are available, send an email with the name you want and some information about your character to character@spindizzy.org and if there's no difficulties, the persona will be created. It's highly recommended to take look around SpinDizzy and talk to other residents before requesting a character.

  67. If you *have* a character and would like automated help setting it up, or re-setting it, you may wish to try typing the 'setup' command from here. You can get help finding a home by typing 'homefinder', or type 'homefinder #help' for more options.

  68. If you need help, try paging helpstaff or a wizard (type 'helpstaff' or 'wizzes' for a list of such people), or for basic help type 'commands'.

  125. Patashu's Personal Quarters(#29396RLJA)

  126. While the base is constantly busy manufacturing and researching and testing and shipping and soforth, Patashu often desires to have a space of his own to work on personal projects or to have discussions with friends and associates. The quarters start with an open foyer of sorts - having a lounge and holographic computer systems, workbenches and scientific equipment and a table (with the company logo emblazoned in gold along its surface) that can be used for conferences, gaming and eating just as easily. (Of course, there are amneties for organic visitors - food, water, beds and all!) (Oh yes, and there IS a pile of 'cushions' and 'beanbags'.) From the holographic screens, all activity of the base can be monitored, and base databases/security feeds accessed. Off to one side, a personal hangar has a huge, rotary rack of different robotic parts and even alternate bodies that can be swapped into and out of, as well as a maintenance system with automated scaffold lined with robotic arms. Kobolds clean, maintain and can be called upon for any necessary task. Posters and blueprints line many of the walls, some of them of products the base builds, some of them gaming related or based on legendary mecha, and the noise of the surrounding base is (mostly) dampened.

  127. Among the Cushions, you see it is empty.

  219. You page, "this is really important to me" to Patashu.

  220. Patashu pages, "Okay, so here's the synthesis of the information so far, from my perspective: Voksa and Agris were friends who met through IRC. You later found out about Voksa's mastodon and followed along there, but due to a defederation issue couldn't interact with Voksa via mastodon. You approach Voksa on IRC to ask Voksa to fix the problem (my guess of how the conversation went was: You asked Voksa to go to Voksa's mastodon instance operator and ask the operator to re-federate with Agris's instance. Voksa didn't want to do this, both because it wasn't Voksa's obligation and due to having moral objections (I'm guessing that the instance you were on was run by shady 8chan-related folks, so both Voksa didn't like the instance in the first place and felt the defederation was warranted and unlikely to be overturned). Voksa therefore told Agris that they wouldn't do this and to stop asking for it. Agris continued to push for it happening. Voksa saw that Agris was ignoring a direct request to drop the subject, and started blocking/ghosting you. Agris didn't get the hint, and assumed maybe Voksa was just having connection issues or otherwise playing hard to get. While the limitations of IRC are unfortunate, sending context-free messages to someone with no explanation as to why to test if they're online or not to someone who's blocking/ghosting you only compounds the initial reason why they're blocking/ghosting in the first place. There was no actual technical problem - you were being ignored because Voksa was not interested in talking with you further due to the kinds of conversations you were engaging in. If you do want to make amends, then the first step is to realize that even though you had no conscious or explicit intent to, this does count as harassment - someone who's cut contact with you after you've repeatedly tried to get them to do something probably has a good reason. So you'd have to realize you made a mistake and repent for it." to you.

To be explicit, I don't know which of the following situations are true, since no one has logs: 1) Voksa did ask you to stop and you forgot that it happened. 2) Voksa thought they asked you to stop, but it was only asked implicitly and you didn't pick up on the hint. - But given all the information you have now, don't you think it's likely that what you thought was an internet glitch and then an inability for Voksa to pick up on your DMs was Voksa signalling that they were not interested in talking to you about this anymore and you not picking up on this cue and continuing to insist on having the conversation?" to you.

I forgot about it for a while but remembered a few times and attempted to follow up and test if voksa was back online again every few weeks. It's true that your behaviour at the time is consistent with your belief that Voksa was not ghosting you and was still interested in talking to you. However, you now know differently . What would it take for you to realize that you made a mistake and be willing to apologize for Voksa for misinterpreting the situation? 282. Patashu pages, "See, this is exactly what I've talking about. I've dealt with people who think like you before while moderating. Your first and only priority is defending your own feelings and beliefs while no one else's emotions and positions matter. You'll never apologize to someone first; you'll always demand an apology, and once it's given (if it is) give nothing in return. You treat being right on the internet as a zero sum game, where all the facts in your head are the true ones and your feelings are the one's who should be attended to because everyone else is obviously wrong. Socializing on the internet isn't a single player game; it's a multiplayer game. You have to give a little to receive a lot. You have to be willing to nurture and fix relationships when there's a dispute, not just bunker down and demand validation. And that's why you won't be able to repair your relationship with Voksa, unless you change your priorities as a person first. You'll be able to get along with people perfectly fine, until the first time there's a miscommunication or a difference in values, then you won't know what to do to fix the relationship because the entire time you only think about yourself and what you want and how to get it. You have to be willing to show fallibility - vulnerability - to hold other peoples' priorities before your own when it's the right time to - to be altruistic." to you.

  456. help page

  457. PAGE <player>

  458. PAGE <player>=<message>

  459. In the first form, this tells a player that you are looking for them, like

  460. 'You sense <pager> is looking for you in <location>.'

  461. In the second form, with the <message>, the user receives a message like:

  462. '<pager> pages, "<message>" to you.' Your location is not revealed in

  463. message pages.

  464. If a player is set HAVEN, you cannot page them. You will instead be told,

  465. 'That player does not wish to be disturbed.'

  466. Note: Most systems use a MUF program with a global 'page' action, which

  467. takes the place of the built-in 'page' command, and has more features.

  468. Usually, you can see the extra features of this MUF page program by using

  469. the command 'page #help'.

  560. To Patashu: I am willing to say "I am sorry if I did anything to make you feel uncomfortable or to make you feel that I am harassing you" to Voksa

  561. I want to make the following points:

  562. 1. Make clear I am not here to ruin anybody's day. If it ruins anybody's day me simply being here that is unfair.

  563. 2. make clear I am not here to Harass Voksa

  564. 3. whatever the problem is on the other platform, I am not bringing it to SpinDizzy

  565. 4. I have not done anthing on SpinDizzy to complement these claims against me.

  566. 5. This issue was only brough to forefront when I couldn't enter spaces on SpinDizzy when all I ever did was say "hello".

  567. 6. What happens ON SpinDizzy is the issue

  568. 7. Whatever the staff want to suggest to resolve the issue I am ears open to.

  569. additionally, my friend wrote the following questions they wanted me to relay:

  570. 1 ) Not a threat

  571. - Agris is not here to ruin anyone's day.

  572. - He's not here or planning to break anyone's rules.

  573. 2 ) Wants to enjoy the space

  574. - Agris wants to enjoy Spindizzy the same as he's done for as long as he's been here.

  575. - He doesn't want drama. It's the last thing he wants.

  576. 3 ) Nature of the claim

  577. - Voksa is claiming Agris will harass them as the basis of their actions. He won't. If he has, he will not further.

  578. 4 ) Nature of the actions

  579. - Agris was, from my understanding, a neutral party in SpinDizzy at the time of the event.

  580. - The ban on him is therefore an action on a neutral party (no provocation).

  581. - It must, then, be okay (not in the legal sense but netiquette) to do any administrative action up to banning without provocation.

  582. - New accounts do not have prior provocation. These actions can be taken, therefore, on any person based on name or whim.

  583. 5 ) Question of time

  584. - Given (4), is this an indefinitely permissible action? Can it be repeated multiple times?

  585. - How long will Agris have to wait (none, week, year, indefinite) as a neutral party to gain the access a new account has?

  586. I was encouraged to join your MUCK by Agris shortly before these events and was excited to.

  587. Given (4), I am not willing to join a MUCK that could potentially do this sort of thing to a brand spanking new user, without provocation.

  588. I don't mind whatever else might happen or what judgments take place.

  589. The way this was done has serious implications.

  590. This isn't an isolated case, Agris is not special. That's entirely the problem and why it could so recklessly apply. Replace his name with anybody in the MUCK.

  822. Patashu's Personal Quarters(#29396RLJA)

  824. Among the Cushions, you see it is empty.

For example, lately I've been feeling more like RPing Mythos than Arvenia. I think it's because things have been a bit meh lately and I appreciate Mythos's near-boundless positivity and enthusiasm, and also I want to be held and comforted by big robots which is more of a Mythos thing."

  895. Voksa lifts him up a little higher to bump noses together.

  896. [OOC] Kandra says, "I don't think I could get the old versions that genuine RP2 ran on to run easily though; they'd want old Java."

  917. look fenrir

  918. A mechanical feral wolf towering 20 meters to the shoulder, the Command Battle Fortress "FENRIR" is less a war machine and more a force of nature. Armoured, slightly geometric metal surfaces painted a dark gray like a stormy sky, the ground shakes with every slow pawfall, accented by the hisses and whirrs of movement and the thundering rumbles of constant idle activity. Lining his surfaces are a variety of weapons, ranging from the largest siegebreaking cannons to anti-personnel and anti-aircraft turrets, twisting and bobbing with every motion, vigilant. High up in the sky, the wolf's eyes glow a piercing yellow, and his fanged maw gleams, sharp and menacing, rivaling the plowing tips of his claws, his tail bristled with sharp, fanned, segmented plates that spread in every direction from each thick segment.

  919. -

  920. Far from working alone, FENRIR is often employed with one or more of his subordinate Battle Fortress units, to garrison territory in need of defense, push deep into enemy territory or even to explore/adventure in/clear 2D and 3D planar hidden worlds. Each Battle Fortress carries a crew of anthro lupine soldiers and officers, and one Chief Gnoll Engineer (FENRIR's is named Cypher), supplied by Patashu Industries, who is in charge of tweaks, repairs, upgrades and maintenance during and between battles. In addition, they are capable of commanding squadrons of lesser units - whether they be tanks, soldiers or mechs. When off-duty, FENRIR can be open to approach, having quite the gruff and proud personality, yet a loyalty towards those he protects and fights for.

  1064. look Derek

1065. A lightly curved, tall, elegant looking wolf, sand-furred and white-striped. Golden spines of metal erupt from under his fur as he moves, rising as he flexes, and falling as he relaxes. Bright green eyes are framed by ever-flowing brown hair, flowing down to his waist in slow waves, and instead of bangs, a pair of curving golden-bronze horns curve up and back from his forehead.

1066. He gives off a particularly commanding air from a distance, with his long stride, imperious resting b*tch face, and seven foot stature that leaves him usually looking down his muzzle and through half-moon glasses at who he's speaking to.

1067. Though, this imperious iciness tends to melt when he warms up to people, aside how he looks- His stance relaxes, he slouches slightly, and a grin might paste his face more often than not, and all the stark judgement in his eyes will melt away into a glittering mischief.

1068. When action calls, Derek is no slouch, spikes rising and electricity arcing along them, along his body and scorching whatever set of clothing he is wearing at the time, usually an open button up shirt of any graphic variety, alongside a pair of jeans and heavy paw-adapted full-steel-shank boots.

A little bit of Vulpes Flourinectie ink drops on you; through it one can see the rose garden that's out there and the people in it. Among other things, the world outside the inkwell offers housing that isn't so cramped, or so wet.

1218. You might choose to visit the Rose Garden by typing 'out', or the park of the day by typing 'park'. You can return to this area by typing 'new'. If you're new to MUCKing, you can get a short list of important commands by typing 'commands'.

1220. If you *have* a character and would like automated help setting it up, or re-setting it, you may wish to try typing the 'setup' command from here. You can get help finding a home by typing 'homefinder', or type 'homefinder #help' for more options.
