  157. Western Open Ocean (S4 E6)(#242RL)
  158. This patch of wide open cool stretch of ocean is often veiled with a thick fog, spilling upwards with clouds rolling overhead. While it seldom truly storms, it's usually raining to some degree, the waves just high enough to look troublesome without actually blocking the way. The waters are dotted with an archipelago of small islands, dark in appearance often with black sand beaches, volcanic in nature. Likely this would've been one large island had the upwelling of magma persisted, but now it's all cold.
  159. The withering remains of an orichalcum rig accident several years ago mark these waters, though sea life still thrives. One isle in particular seems to've attracted orichalcum though, the center of the fog, whispers of the wind surrounding it. Isla Escondida is also seen among the more intermittent reaches of fog, seen with several piers and former settlement, once abandoned, now reclaimed. Once the site of a wrecked spacecraft, the turrets salvaged from that wreck now defend that island, though those visiting the fog-shrouded bazaar there often look to be a disreputable sort. It might be a place to look, if you're in the market for 'alternative merchandise'.

  169. Sea Floor: Recovering Shelf (S4 E6 D1)(#25931RLJ)
  170. An old darkness drifts about these waters, wisps of black settling to the sea floor nearly two kilometers below the surface. An absence of fish in these cold near-coastal waters gives way the fact that a disaster unfolded here some time ago. Strewn about the sea floor are sections of pipe and pieces of debris, some washing up against the shelf, towards the shore though none quite making it to the beach. Spilled orichalcum shows as shimmering red lines about the sea floor, telltale of the drilling operation that used to be here.
  171. Though, not all is bleak here. Many parts of the sea floor are recovering, corals coming clean by the tide, the plants at the bottom starting to grow over the old debris. Given time, the wreck will be just another feature of the terrain.
  172. Towards the blue light above, a swift current sweeps the shelf, the beach laying far to the west, leaving plenty of open space around here. Should one venture far below, they may spot the wreckage of the drilling platform large tanker ship that serviced it in a heap of concrete and metal. The old drilling site has left its bore hole open though, wide enough to swim into.

  193. S1 W2 - Neopolis West(#285RL)
  194. This is the central section of Neopolis, a neighborhood of streamlines and chrome, robots and hovercars, and a general retro-sci-fi feel all around. Most of the space here is taken up by a complex called the Ephemeris Apartments, although the four-story digital clock tower across the street is the area's most prominent landmark.
  195. The surrounding buildings are a variety of small shops and cafes - the sort you'd expect to see in any moderately-sized shopping area. One in particular stands out - its name, in glowing green neon Sanskrit-styled lettering, is Club Shiva; a sign on the door reads "All Ages and Species Welcome".

"I'm sorry, but we... ah.. " They seem to take a moment when faced with who you are, pausing, before continuing. "... I can't say for sure, sir. There were injuries, but at least one person survived. I can help get you in contact with the hospital where--" They're interrupted as one of the other cops shouts, drawing attention to where Chevesh has darted back in to scrounge at the rubble-pile, taking a bite of the stone directly.

  398. Patashu's Personal Quarters(#29396RLJA)
  399. While the base is constantly busy manufacturing and researching and testing and shipping and soforth, Patashu often desires to have a space of his own to work on personal projects or to have discussions with friends and associates. The quarters start with an open foyer of sorts - having a lounge and holographic computer systems, workbenches and scientific equipment and a table (with the company logo emblazoned in gold along its surface) that can be used for conferences, gaming and eating just as easily. (Of course, there are amneties for organic visitors - food, water, beds and all!) (Oh yes, and there IS a pile of 'cushions' and 'beanbags'.) From the holographic screens, all activity of the base can be monitored, and base databases/security feeds accessed. Off to one side, a personal hangar has a huge, rotary rack of different robotic parts and even alternate bodies that can be swapped into and out of, as well as a maintenance system with automated scaffold lined with robotic arms. Kobolds clean, maintain and can be called upon for any necessary task. Posters and blueprints line many of the walls, some of them of products the base builds, some of them gaming related or based on legendary mecha, and the noise of the surrounding base is (mostly) dampened.

  417. Shark! Mako is resesmbling her namesake today.... err.. sort of? Instead of the normal feline form, she bears the appearance of a bipedal tiger-shark girl. Sleek peach-colored skin, faintly scaley, with periodic black stripes can be visible where not covered by her outfit. Her head still retains its silvery eyes and cheeky grin, albeit with a few more teeth than before, and a short-ish mop of white hair, streaked with bright blue. Behind her, a long tail spits in two, and each with its own two finned end.
  418. Worn today is a charcoal grey one piece swimsuit, cut with a deep split down the back for the fin, over which has been thrown a backless halter-top of red leather and lace, and a low-hanging white pleated thigh-length skirt. Her feet are uncovered, but on her hands, some punk-y fingerless black gloves. From one of her ears hangs an earring that resembles a small scroll of paper with strange symbols, and from the other, a small blue crystal that periodically pulses with bright light. Hanging from her belt is her PDA device, the one normally worn on the side of her head. And for those who pay attention, yes, she's still floating... and occaisionally glowing faintly!

  530. Subject: Anti-Idlers
  531.
  532. Some of you have, at some point, received a warning that the MUCK server has possibly detected an anti-idler on your connection. The warning is then followed up by a forced disconnection. Please be aware that the wizards do get a notice when this happens, and that we do talk to people who frequently get that warning. While it's not serious, we still consider it important to fix the problem and help everyone enjoy SpinDizzy even more.
  533.
  534. If you're finding yourself being kicked off by the anti-idler detector or even frequently idling out, you may want to consider staying off SpinDizzy to sleep or nap, focus on work, or do whatever it is that's keeping you from being on here. Your friends here will appreciate knowing that when you are online, you're actually available to talk and play, and you'll enjoy feeling less detached and more involved in all the fun that goes on.
  535.
  536. If you are using an anti-idler due to a connection issue, fluffy has written a nice program anyone can use that is not an anti-idler and therefore allows the idle timeout to work properly. Please see 'cread 89' for details. Several residents are successfully using it already.
  537.
  538. Also, for those of you running events, you can request for any helpstaff or wizard to set the idle timeout much higher than it normally is, to keep spectators from having to reconnect several times over the course of the event.

  627. Vlier City Ring(#32553RJA)
  628. A misty city stretches on in only two directions, curving upward around a gravity deck, bounded in the others by buildings gradually agglomerating into denser groupings and then solid bulkhead. The buildings seem to compete with each other, not for space, but for boldness. Strange shapes, exotic claddings, and esoteric architectural concepts abound! Some of these are surely just vast sculptures and not useful buildings.
  629.
  630. Sounds echo oddly around the ring-shaped space. Occasionally, machinery at the core of the ship makes the sky reverberate, and the impact resounds through the city several times like low rolling thunder.
  631.
  632. A glow-panel sky mimics a solar cycle and even some curious weather events, but the city bustles day and night. The doors of cafes and workshops and other establishments generally leave their doors open to multi-level walkways, with passing creatures gathering inside or out on adjacent streets.

  655. Observatory of the Inward Eye(#14631RLJ)
  656. Grassy paths, shuttle lines, and light rail tracks connect a hill at the edge of the disk to the world at large. Where they meet, a copper dome overwhelms the dwindling horizon. The observatory's white ceramic walls and metal roofs help the complex bring to mind old high-voltage electrical equipment. A bright red sparkle between panels makes it gleam with energy!
  657.
  658. The surrounding hillside is placid and quiet, enough that much wildlife has found a comfortable home in the bushes and trees that surround the buildings. When the dome opens and the telescope's motors resound low through the ground, squirrels and birds watch with peculiarly knowing interest.
  659.
  660. At the base of the round flat structure that supports the dome, stained glass doors in a jagged pattern swing open and inviting.

1040. PrismaCola! It's time for bottled sunshine!
1041. Yep, this is a colorful vending mchine, built in a somewhat antique style with a heavy metal case, curved front and a dome top, though the front is transparent to show the merchendise within. A PrismaCola logo is seen on top with a blue swish-line underneath it, the line parting into a festive eruption of spirals and curved lines. The machine itself is green painted with blue lights lighting the interior, a rainbow of colored stripes running down the interior where a uniform set of glass soda bottles contrast with a variety of addon packets and vials.
1042. There's only one PrismaCola because there only needs to be one. What brings out the flavor is the selection (l machine's selection) of delicious radioactive isotopes available to go with it; when mixed, PrismaCola takes on a flavor and color of glow signature to that isotope, absorbing the material in the process! And for those with more natural tastes, mixing PrismaCola with your neurological agent of choice will cause it to gel into flavorful jam, allowing it to be spread on any food you desire. Just drop in a coin and punch in the combo (get cola [flavor]) to get a bottle of your own!
1043. There's even a 'secret' flavor, aquired by neutron-activating an otherwise plain PrismaCola. Just put your bottle next to an active nuclear reactor for a while or in view of a nuclear bomb flash. When it glows bright blue, it's ready for you! And as the vendor's gift to the customer, in the event of nuclear apocalypse, all machines near a crater will dispense this flavor for free to all patrons so long as inventory remains!

  1277. Miscellaneous:
1278. The coati, also called the coatimundi or the chulo, is a sociable
1279. relative to the raccoon, most active in the daytime. They live in tribes
1280. of several dozen individuals, with the females and juveniles the core and
1281. the males the outskirts. Coatis spend their time socializing and eating.
1282. It is very talkative. "Chulo" is an approximation to a common word which
1283. means "Hello", "I am here", "All is well", "How are you?", and the like.
  1284.
  1285. TinyPlot Prefs:
1286. Austin is open to nonviolent and nonsexual tinyplots. Ones which
1287. involve strange and imaginative ideas, or which challenge someone's sense
1288. of identity, ones with humourous or cartoon sensibilities appeal greatly.

1645. This spaceship seems to have been contorted into the shape of a dragon! They move far more deftly than heavy machinery generally does, leaping and bounding around over obstacles and around friends. Very animated, bending and curling sinuously, then freezing statue-still whenever they pause.
  1646.
1647. They watch the world through a visor-shaped screen, usually decorated with pink eyes, that makes them look a little like a ferret or raccoon. The conical aircraft-ish nose doesn't break up the impression too much.
  1648.
1649. Flexible lavender-painted metal covers their back and limbs, feeling like the shell of a car or airplane until it bends underpaw. Their underbelly is plated with thick rubber that feels a little more natural when it bends; the gaps between the two surfaces reveal hints of esoteric waxy machinery.
  1650.
1651. Two long slots run from their head just behind their visor along their back and all the way to the base of their heavy tail. At rest they're about two inches wide with tooth-like gears inside, but their wings and ears fit into the slits, which widen around them! These or other attachments plugged in can slide up and down along the tracks.

  1729. look Arvenia
1730. [TL;DR] A glance at Arvenia reveals him to be a Crow-morph, standing just about six feet tall. His plumage is black with a speckling of white. His wings are 'toony' meaning they double as hands. His digitigrade legs lead down to sharp claws. He wears only a simple, dark leather, crossbody satchel.
  1731.
1732. His head features a long black beak, the upper mandible has a slight downwards curve to it, meeting the lower mandible at a sharp point. If beaks can smile, then that's what you'd say he's doing right now. Black, wire frame, rounded rectangular glasses rest upon his beak. His small beady eyes remain watchful for threats, food, or shinies. He doesn't have 'ears' in the conventional sense, but closer inspection would reveal small holes a bit behind his eyes, the surrounding feathers are a bit softer.
1733. He is just shy of six feet, standing at five eleven, sporting a thinner build. His neck appears to be about as thick as his head, but that's just because of the floofy feathers. His toony wings are huge, the lowest feathers reaching his knees, and with a wingspan more than double his height. They are currently folded against him, offering an extra layer of protection to his torso. His torso thins from chest to hips, but only slightly.
1734. His plumage runs from his head to his ankles. Dressed like the night sky, his feathers are an iridescent blue-black aside from a light speckling of pure white feathers. Below the outer layer of plumage there's fluffy down feathers that keep him warm, and make him quite nice to hug. His chest sports some extra floof, surely soft with extra down feathers.
1735. He is in pretty good shape, nothing extra; muscles or fat. His tail is wide and rounded, shaped like those folding handheld fans. The feathers are long and stiff, made for flight. His plumage runs thick where his legs start, thinning as it continues down. Stopping entirely at his ankles, about as high as a plantigrade's mid-calf. The feathers are replaced with a tough, reptilian-like, scaly skin. Each foot consists of three forward facing toes, and one back facing toe. Every toe ends in a sharp claw. (He'd be quick to point out that it's not a talon, as those reserved for birds of prey.)
1736. He wears naught but a satchel. Dark brown, aged leather, full grain. It rests at his hip, a pin-buckle strap running across his chest and over his opposite shoulder. The strap presses into his plumage a bit, but still leaves some slack, comfortably tight without restricting his movement. The satchel itself is on the thinner side, main pouch with thick fold-over flap, and two medium side pockets resting just below where the larger flap folds over.
  1737.
1738. He catches your gaze, giving you a small nod and slight wave.

1780. This appears to be a rather constrictive inkwell, jammed full of characters. A little bit of Vulpes Flourinectie ink drops on you; through it one can see the rose garden that's out there and the people in it. Among other things, the world outside the inkwell offers housing that isn't so cramped, or so wet.
  1781.
1782. You might choose to visit the Rose Garden by typing 'out', or the park of the day by typing 'park'. You can return to this area by typing 'new'. If you're new to MUCKing, you can get a short list of important commands by typing 'commands'.
  1783.
1784. If you'd like a character, you can page a wizard who's on duty -- they're listed by typing 'wizzes' -- or if none are available, send an email with the name you want and some information about your character to character@spindizzy.org and if there's no difficulties, the persona will be created. It's highly recommended to take look around SpinDizzy and talk to other residents before requesting a character.
  1785.
1786. If you *have* a character and would like automated help setting it up, or re-setting it, you may wish to try typing the 'setup' command from here. You can get help finding a home by typing 'homefinder', or type 'homefinder #help' for more options.
  1787.
1788. If you need help, try paging helpstaff or a wizard (type 'helpstaff' or 'wizzes' for a list of such people), or for basic help type 'commands'.
