  93. Patashu's Personal Quarters(#29396RLJA)
  94. While the base is constantly busy manufacturing and researching and testing and shipping and soforth, Patashu often desires to have a space of his own to work on personal projects or to have discussions with friends and associates. The quarters start with an open foyer of sorts - having a lounge and holographic computer systems, workbenches and scientific equipment and a table (with the company logo emblazoned in gold along its surface) that can be used for conferences, gaming and eating just as easily. (Of course, there are amneties for organic visitors - food, water, beds and all!) (Oh yes, and there IS a pile of 'cushions' and 'beanbags'.) From the holographic screens, all activity of the base can be monitored, and base databases/security feeds accessed. Off to one side, a personal hangar has a huge, rotary rack of different robotic parts and even alternate bodies that can be swapped into and out of, as well as a maintenance system with automated scaffold lined with robotic arms. Kobolds clean, maintain and can be called upon for any necessary task. Posters and blueprints line many of the walls, some of them of products the base builds, some of them gaming related or based on legendary mecha, and the noise of the surrounding base is (mostly) dampened.
  95. Among the Cushions, you see it is empty.

  105. look Patashu
  106. A chuffing, puffing, readily mechanical presence stands here. While holding a superficial resemblance to a natural dragon, the swirling, plated fittings of brass and bronze on a riveted copper hull belie the appearance. Some 25ft long and 8ft in height the dragon is clearly steam-powered, evidenced by the circular, vertically slitted boiler grate mounted onto his front underbelly, displaying dancing flickering flames over burning coal, as well as the smoke that snorts from his nostrils and steam that vents from the ends of pipes that emerge from his inner form, not haphazardly but neatly lined up apon haunches and from his back.
  107.
  108. His fangs and clawtalons are solid iron, and his copper wings stretch out on struts of steel, detailed with the brass and bronze designs just like the rest of him, not overdone but striking a creative balance. Horns of iron with a spiraling rim are mounted to the back of his head and rise up to jut to a tip. Sapphire-lens eyes are illuminated with an inner warmth and reveal assemblies of optical components and of ticking clockwork further behhind. His lower jaw occasionally releases to reveal the fang-lined, cavernous metallic maw, huffing out smoke or steam, a plated detailed tongue visible on its floor.
  109.
  110. The steampunk beast would move with a lumbering, clunking gait, tail swaying from side to side as a counterbalance, steam and smoke emissions whistling or billowing out as machinery in churns and rumbles, rattles, engines pounding and pistons hissing, wings at his sides. For flight he can release internal helium airbags that bloat his metal hull, much like a blimp would operate, his tail splitting out into a triple-finned propellor at varying length for propulsion, wings for control.

There are faded grey markings on their snout that start at their eyes and stream down to their mouth. You see a bushy black-tipped tail, fluffy black paw gloves with sharp white claws and pink pads. You swear to occasionally see small electrical sparks jump from the claws.

  309. This critter seems to be a blend of a dragon and a fox, with fur covering much of her body - white over her front, neck, and the inside of her thighs, and rust-red everywhere else - though her lower arms and legs, together with her tail, are covered in silvery-blue scales in the typical dragon fashion. Her tail, in particular, is thick and muscular, and adorned with a ridge of small spines running down its length. Her eyes are a brilliant gold, gaze flitting here and there, never seeming to settle.
  310. She's short, too - maybe 5-foot-6 - and slender, though there are subtle hints of muscularity under the fur and scales. Atop her head are two large fennec ears, and behind them a pair of gleaming white dragon horns emerge from her head, sweeping backwards. Flowing down between and around her ears and horns is a full head of fire-red hair, while in her mouth are gleaming white teeth, and a long, thick, and flexible tongue. She also has a set of three parallel scars along her left side, reaching from just below the armpit to the hip.
  311. She also has a pair of wings attached just below her shoulders, where you might expect the bottom of her shoulder blades to be. When fully extended, they look almost like giant spindly arms with even longer fingers, with a scaled membrane running between each one, and then connecting onto her side from the innermost finger. In total, her wingspan is probably about 2 metres.
  312. The fox isn't wearing any clothing, save for a belt around her middle, but her natural fur coat more than makes up for it. It's quite thick, but well-groomed so as not to be shaggy. Her fur also keeps her properly decent. There's nothing on her digitigrade feet either, but it doesn't seem to bother her. On one finger she wears a plain golden ring, with an inscription so small it can barely be seen, and in writing unfamiliar to you. Around her neck hangs a clear, perfectly formed crystal, in a golden setting attached to a golden chain. Hanging from a ring attached to her belt, down her side, is a bone arrowhead tied to a length of leather string.

For a cookbook it looks heavy on the text, short on pictures, the better to fill its roughly 1000 pages with not just recipes, but instructions on how to hold a knife, how to chop vegetables, debone a chicken, etc.
  324.
  325. Thought suitable for a beginner, it remains comprehensive and covers a variety of cuisines and dish types. If you only own one cookbook, this is a pretty good one.

This is not a static world full of static people - it grows and develops.

If you are in the minority in being excessively unrelated, you may be asked by another patron of the room to desist or leave, and you should respect their wishes and do so; Disputes may be escalated to me, and I'll have final say.

  657. Garden Gazebo
  658. This is a smallish open-walled hexagonal structure with white walls and dark green trim. Six arched entrances support the pointed roof, each one leading down to to a path through one of the many gardens. Someone has furnished the place with two tiny wrought-iron tables and four matching chairs, additionally six small benches pokes out of the corners at just the right height for sitting.
  659. A ring of metal about a yard in diameter, surrounded by curlicue designs, has been inlaid into the center of the wooden floor.
  660. Tucked away in one corner (perhaps you miscounted those benches) is a small spiral staircase leading up and down. Bouganvilla twines along its railings as well as the gazebo wall behind it.

  667. How very odd, you could have sworn that gazebo didn't have an attic, much less an entire second story.
  668. Compass Rose Hall
  669. This is not so much a room in and of itself but rather the place where all the other entrances and halls happen to intersect. An enormous compass rose has been etched in gold into the hardwood floor and an old chandelier hanging from the ceiling complements the pattern, throwing sparks of light across the panelled walls. Small metal signs label each of the exits, of which there are six.
  670. At the exact center of the compass rose is a round hole, through which a small spiral staircase descends. Light and the smell of greenery waft up from below. However something about the angle of the light makes it impossible to discern any details.

  690. The theater is tiny, with room for maybe fifty people, and its red plush seats and ornate bobbles and blobs - mostly in brass - give it a vaguely Victorian feel. Closer inspection reveals that the architect was going for just that: vaguely Victorian, without being anything specific. Nonetheless, it is quite cozy and could easily serve for a staged play or an improv session.
